Kim Epley, Chief Exec & Creative Director
Kim’s love for flowers began early—her first cut flower garden bloomed at age five, and by fifth grade, she was presenting a science fair project on growing quality blooms. Though her career initially took a different path—earning a degree in electrical engineering and rising to executive leadership roles—her passion for flowers never faded.
In early 2024, she made the leap from the corporate world, joining her husband David Blue (also known as Farmer Blue) to champion local, seasonal flowers for events and celebrations. Today, she leads The Studio at Farmer Blue, offering full-service floral and event design for weddings, corporate functions, and special occasions. Her work is known for its quality, thoughtful design, and personalized client experience.
Sustainability is at the heart of Farmer Blue’s Studio. We’re committed to reducing waste by avoiding single-use plastics and non-biodegradable floral foam. We believe luxury floristry is rooted in seasonality and strive to use flowers grown on our own family farm or sourced from local growers whenever possible.
We also collaborate with a network of top-tier floral designers who share our values and vision. Together, we’re dedicated to crafting unforgettable events while supporting a more sustainable floral industry.
We're passionate about what we do—and even more passionate about helping you bring your unique vision to life.
About Us
David Blue, Founder, Chief Grower, Product Innovation Officer
In 2017 David founded Farmer Blue with a desire to provide florists, event designers and wholesale customer access to local, seasonal luxury flowers grown fresh from his farm.
80% of the flowers used by florist in southeast being imported from outside the US and their use of damaging chemicals during harvest and transport has an impact on the environment. Having a local seasonal option that’s more eco-friendly promotes goals for sustainability.
Over the past four years, the property has turned into a high production flower farm what continues to specialize in bulk wholesale options while offering select design services via The Studio. We offer event design, subscriptions and commercial / conference solutions.
The farm has joined forces with other premium South Carolina growers to form a flower co-op, building a stronger portfolio with extended growth seasons which benefit our customers. Dave is also involved in the local floral community, providing mentorship and training to help flower farms grow strong and thrive.
